The sad truth is that we will outlive our pets. They go, and we stay. They're gone and our hearts break.
I've had the great honor of talking with pets who have passed away. It always gives me great joy to do so, because I get to experience a little bit of what happens in heaven, as much as I can understand. I can't explain to you what it feels like, other than perhaps the joy you feel when your kids are born. A glorious feeling of joy.
Here are some questions and answers about crossing over:
What happens when a pet dies?
Contrary to popular pet mythology, there is no rainbow bridge. When a pet dies, their pain stops immediately. They don't have conflicting feelings about their time on earth. They forgive us for the mistakes we make as their companions. The spirit leaves the body very quickly, and most of the time, the pet immediately goes to the other side.
Well, there is a rainbow bridge for pets that want a rainbow bridge. But say your dog wants to go to the other side with his head hanging out the window of your Jetta, and the wind whipping through his ears. Well, that's the trip he gets.
What's it like on the other side?
Pets create their own reality on the other side, and for many of them, it consists of green fields and bright blue oceans. Everything on the other side is clear and bright and beautiful.
Do our pets miss us?
Pets aren't sad because time is different on the other side. It's like they've gone on a trip, and they'll see us in what feels like a few weeks. But, pets care about us, and often the spirit of the pet will return to help us grieve. You may catch a glimpse of them, or pick up their scent.
Are there ghost pets?
I've talked with many pets who have died and only one had not crossed over. I'll share that story soon as a reading of the week. My dear partner, Brian, once told me that his loft was haunted by a ghost cat. So, it does happen, but it is uncommon. Sometimes death will come so fast, and by accident, and the pet won't even realize that he's passed over. Others are still quite caught up in their life on this earth, and they are choosing not to cross over. It's quite rare. Even if your pet was troubled, odds are good that he passed over.
What about reincarnation?
Yes, pets reincarnate. Sometimes they'll come back to be with us in a new body, or they will have a new job to do.
Jobs?
Yes, pets have jobs. Some act as spiritual guides to animals or spiritual guides to us.
If you are grieving the loss of a pet, please know that they are very empathetic to your pain. Sometimes it helps for you to talk with them. I hope it helps you to know that your pet is okay and happy on the other side. Their love for you lives on. You will see them again.
i hope there is the other side i do worry sometimes that what if there really is nothing and i want to see all my babies again we love and loved them all so much

No Rainbow Bridge? My car isn’t a Jetta but plz help explain the image seen in this photo taken yesterday - same day I had to end my Jackson’s pain…… we traveled the country together in this car, he always jumped in the front seat waiting for me to come back. All I wanted for him was to cross over and be happy and without pain, where is he now?
Again, this was just yesterday!!!!
